There are a handful of garments that I wear over and over again, and this tunic captures the best elements of those staples—an easy, unfussy fit, long sleeves that tuck neatly under vests and jackets, flattering mid-thigh length, and one big pocket to catch all the miscellany I end up with throughout the day.
The cut skims the body loosely making it ideal for layering in the fall and winter. It's my favorite tunic to wear to the studio—when you're working, comfort is key, but you still want to look put together. The Harper has an interesting and avant-garde appeal, and it would only be improved by drips and smears of paint or a dusting of flour from the kitchen.

Still great quality, 10 years after my last purchase from this brand!
Awesome as usyal. Just ordered anothet Harper in ink.
This was worth the wait! It's my favorite piece in my wardrobe right now. So comfortable, such a fun look. I've worn it several times. It's washed well. I'm over the moon!
This is the third Long Sleeve Harper that I've ordered from ES and I can't say enough positive things about it. As a perimenopausal woman, I love how the garment is loose-fitting while also giving a polished and artsy appearance.
Beautiful item! Great fabric and fit - I can't wait to wear it all summer and beyond.
Customers praised this loose-fitting tunic for its comfort, polished appearance, and midweight linen fabric. Reviews highlighted it as a "favorite piece" that "washes well" and offers an "artsy appearance." The indigo color received particular praise. Multiple customers are repeat buyers, with one ordering their third tunic.

I had a version of this tunic many years ago, but after all the body fluctuations of having two babies I decided to try this updated version. So glad I did -- the sizing here is dialed in really nicely. So comfortable and perfect for layering in winter or for warmer days ahead. The linen is sturdy but soft and the pocket is everything! I am 5'2 petite build and I ordered the XXS/XS and its just right.
I own two short sleeve and two long sleeve Harper tunics and I reach for them ALL the time. I was OSM in the Generation 3 sizing and sized up to OS in the current generation because my arms were not comfortable in the OSM (I think the sleeve width and opening got slightly narrower). I love layering my sleeveless Louis funnel neck tops under this for extra warmth and because the sleeves are more fitted, I don't have to worry about what kind of outerwear I'll wear over it. I own the long sleeve version in olive and terra and wear them all the time with my navy Andy trousers and leggings. The Harper pocket deserves an award! It is placed perfectly, it's the perfect size for all the things (I'm a mom to a toddler and I've fit everything from a diaper to dump trucks in there) and the slant gives it aesthetic appeal. I cannot recommend this top enough!
I've worn my Harper Tunic when pregnant, in the need-a-very-loose-but-I-got-dressed-today post-partum days, and now in the nursing stage. It pairs with everything (leggings, jeans, baggier pants), and helps me feel more put together. I've also worn it in every season. Such a fantastic, versatile piece.
Pros: lovely fabric weight; great hi-low hemline; sleeve length is perfect for those who like to avoid fuss; pocket is glorious.
Cons: the hem looks like it had a small error when sewn as it pulls throughout the hemline and sleeve cuffs (even when ironed & not ducktail). Arm holes are a little snug but garment looses overall after first wear.
I've had my eye on the harper tunic for awhile knew it was going to by my next ES purchase! I love it and now I want the short sleeve version. Obviously the pocket is a major win, but this top is so casual yet elegant. It makes me feel like I'm floating and grounded at the same time. It's a lot of fabric but the way the way it falls over the body is so flattering. I'm a harper convert :) I ordered the OSM so it wouldn't overwhelm me and I also like to roll the sleeves up a little bit for a casual look. The arms were a little tight at first but the linen loosens up and it's comfy.
I love my Harper Tunic in both the midweight and the linen guaze! Took them both to Europe this month! The midweight was perfect for the more balmy days of 70-80 degree weather and the linen gauze was ideal for the heatwave!
This has quickly become one of my favorite pieces in my closet. It manages to feel like pajamas but wear with amazing flexibility—with jeans, wide legs chinos, slim work pants, and more. With such versatility, how do I *not* wear this every day?
On fit: Perhaps a no-brainer for others, but I had better luck ordering based on garment than body measurements. It's super helpful to have both, but I found that my hip measurements have me sized in an OSP, but the sweep of an OS gives me plenty of room without drowning in fabric.
This shirt is a dream - it's versatile, comfortable, and constructed so thoughtfully. I love it for both work and home. At home I wear it with leggings and wool socks and at work I wear it with denim and ankle boots. The construction and shape, specifically the slimmer sleeves and high low hem, really make the voluminous shape work. The linen is soft and continues to get softer as I wear and wash it. The shape is easy to layer with long sleeves or a turtleneck underneath for cold winter days. I was a bit concerned about the sleeves of the OS Minus being too slim but haven't had any issues and they do stretch a bit to accommodate. This top really is special and I highly recommend it!
I purchased the short sleeve mid-weight linen Harper earlier this year, and loved it so much that I had to get a long sleeve one for fall/winter. 1238472883/10 would recommend.
I wear this tunic all the time! I love that this weight of linen is heavy enough to wear in winter (here in Seattle). This is one of FOUR Harper tunics I have! I rarely wear other styled shirts. Just be careful not to catch the big pocket on anything - it's so easy to do!

Like all my other ES pieces…I love it! The color (indigo) is gorgeous! Midweight linen is my favorite fabric! Thanks to everyone who made this Tunic happen!
My Harper Tunic is my new favorite! I love it-
The fit is great and it's very comfortable.
I have 2 Harpers and will buy more. i love the big pocket and comfort
I have a couple of these from 2019 and they are fantastic. So chic. I keep trying to buy the new versions as they come out but they are no longer as they used to be. The closed neck opening, too-wide body compared to too-tight sleeves just looks like a sac of potatoes on me. I tried both S and XS and neither fits well (my old ones are OSM - still unclear to me where that maps to in the new sizing scheme). This is very sad as I wish I had a blue one that fit me well.
Hi Shiry,
Thank you for your review! We've taken note of the feedback on this style and plan to...
This is my second long sleeve Harper tunic I also have it in black as well as both black and flax in the short sleeve version. I am 5’ tall so I can also were them as mini dresses. They are a staple in my travel wardrobe!
So pleased. It actually looked as good on me as it did on the models!
The Sixth Edition is my fourth Long Sleeve Harper; I have loved them all, starting with the original Harper, which was a slimmer design. Upon receiving this sixth edition, the fit has changed. I exchanged it for a size up, making the fit oversized, voluminous, and comfortable.
I love this Tunic! Fits beautifully and goes under a chunky sweater, over a full skirted dress-and is terrific on its own with jeans/leggings.
I love it and I want to wear it every day…looks great with everything.
I have several me-made Harpers that I've sewn from ES patterns, but this was my first time actually purchasing one from the store. It fits great and I do like the new center-back seam. The olive linen is gorgeous! I'm pregnant and anticipate that I'll be able to wear this all the way through my pregnancy. Note that the sleeves are definitely bracelet-length on me and I'm only 5'3".
