I got the Marlena in Navy, Small. For reference I am 5'9" tall and usually wear a US size 4. I asked for modifications to length so it would land at the most flattering place on my calves. Because I'm a long-time ES supporter with multiple Andys, Florence, tops, Georgia dresses I knew the quality would be there. But with the Marlena dress specifically what surprised me was the modernity--yet classic adaptability--of the cut. Reversible to have a round or v-neck, leave it flowing, belt it up, over trousers, with bare legs and sandals totally casual, over the matching Florence with jewelry and dressy shoes go to just about any semi-formal occasion I might have. Plus it packs down tiny so it's a versatile, sophisticated layer to take when travelling in shoulder seasons. It's the kind of magical that speaks to clever design and pattern-making: on the hanger, it looks like nothing much (I saw my husband looking over my shoulder, pretty skeptically). On the body, it transforms into something else (my husband "oh that's my favourite").
Perfect travel dress for a nice dinner out. Love the feel and drape of this. Quality of the silk is divine. Love the reversability of the neckline and felt so sexy with the deep V in the back. One of my absolute favorite ES pieces in my closet.
